What else should you know about MixedDNA

How’s it different from other tools?

MixedDNA editor differs from tools like SnapGene or Benchling Molecular Biology in the core belief that to test your hypothesis you should be making more than one construct. Mixed supports and encourages building combinatorial libraries of designs and streamlines the drudgery of finding templates, designing primers and much much more.

Mixed supports good old restriction enzyme based cloning as well as more sophisticated strategies such as Golden Gate and Gibson. As you design your constructs, Mixed has in-silico tools to check for things like unintended homologous recombination and secondary structures that will make your assemblies fail and result in (many) bad days in the lab.

Not another Software-as-a-Service or ad business

So much of our lives today happen on websites and the servers in far away data centers that power them. There’s a saying, “if you're not paying for the product, you are the product”. Mixed has been designed from the ground up to give you complete control of your sequences. It’s part of why, Mixed is a application that runs on your desktop as opposed to a “Software As A Service” SaaS offering. Mixed is not free, but if you stop paying we don’t remove access to your sequences. Whether its your thesis project or your million dollar cure for cancer, you own your sequences and control how they are shared.
